Hi! I'm Judith Eppolito, creator of ASHENBERRY animals with attitude. I'd like to welcome you to my website and encourage you to read on and learn alittle about me and my creations. On June 15, 2006, I moved from upstate New York to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Living in a fabulous mountain-top house, which is nestled in the woods and overlooks the George Washington National Forest, is very inspiring ,and it is here that I have learned to slow down and enjoy life.
Before giving full time to ASHENBERRY, I worked as a therapist for 20 years, offering advice and counsel. I began making bears and other critters in 1991, after one of many lunch-time visits to a local bear shop. I have been involved in both needle and the fine arts (sewing, quilting, needlework, knitting, stained glass, metal work) since a very young age. "Stuffed animals" have always been a favorite thing to collect. The inspiration for my work comes from a myriad of life experiences, children's books and a variety of animal friends who have touched my life in so many ways. Over the years, my range of designs has grown and the focus has shifted primarily to the whimsical and humorous. I am well known for my attention to detail, and, as all of my work is done solely be me, you will rarely see my animals in shops. I prefer the personal contact afforded by attending trade shows, and have been fortunate to make many close and lasting friendships through this avenue. I have a very supportive family, in particular, my mother, who is my greatest fan and best friend. I consider myself very lucky indeed, as "my work is my play is my work is my joy"...well, you get the idea. Life is good! And now, thanks for reading about me and my work and have fun looking at my critters! Press the "back" button to return to the front page and get started. always, Judy |
